I love hotels with a sense of history… The Malabar House originally home to a  Dutch family, then spice traders, tea traders, it was even a bank. In 1996, it became Fort Cochin’s first boutique heritage hotel.

Malabar House is an upscale boutique hotel, a Relais and Châteaux property-  a place with a soul owned by German designer turned hotelier Joerg  Drechsel and his Spanish wife Txuku in historic Fort Kochi.

The stark reception has a huge red sphere suspended from the ceiling and contemporary art on walls.
