The tiny alley that I take in the heart of historic Ghent, Flanders , Belgium does not prepare me for the sheer magnificence of this restaurant. This former textile warehouse in the University town of Ghent was transformed into a stylish restaurant, and looks more like a market hall.. Portuguese architect Antoine Pinto gave the building its distinctive warm character. They have retained the century old wrought iron work and it’s still gorgeous!
I loved the feeling of being in an old factory, with high ceilings and warm interiors in contrast with the hard steel and iron. The different levels added to its charm. The cuisine was traditional French-Italian style, plus an excellent wine list and of course Belgian beers. You could choose between a three-course menus or à la carte.
